MONTGOMERY COUNTY — Three people have been taken to the hospital after a serious injury crash on the Trotwood-Clayton city line Thursday evening.
Initial reports indicated that a two-vehicle crash was reported just before 4:20 pm near the intersection of Salem Avenue and E. Westbrook Road.

A sergeant with the Ohio State Highway Patrol on scene told News Center 7 that the crash happened when a Mazda 6 failed to yield when making a left turn onto E. Westbrook Road and was hit by a black Chevrolet Equinox that was heading north on Salem Ave .
According to a press release, the driver of Mazda, Daniel Barrera, 19, of Dayton, and his passenger, Tristen Baker, 20, of Brookville, were both flown to Miami Valley Hospital with serious injuries. Barrera was last listed with non-life-threatening injuries, and Baker was listed with life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the Equinox, Joe Patterson, 66, of Trotwood, was transported to Miami Valley Hospital with serious injuries.
